Ngerengere River Eco Camp

The Ngerengere River Eco camp is for volunteers as well as travelers of all ages hoping to discover authentic African living and to engage in hands-on community-centered activities that aide in the daily lives of the local people with a focus on environmentally-friendly practices.
With current situation about Coronavirus, the Eco camp has taken all important measures to make sure the Eco camp and all guests as well as our staff are all safe.
We have set hand washing places at every single Conner of the camp, we have restricted all enterances towards the camp. No body is allowed to enter into the camp area without notice. However we have distributed medicated soaps to communities around the camp to make sure that the communities around camp are safe too. Mind you we have only one family nearest to camp which is about 250mts.
All other families are about 1 to 5km away from the camp.
With all that I want to inform you that according to information from health authorities in our location, we don't have any COVID case in all sub cities and villages neighboring to Eco camp.
With all these factors ensures that our camp is more than safe.

LOCATION
Eco Camp is located in the small Tanzanian village of Lukwambe at the bank of Ngerengere River –150 km from Dar es Salaam along the highway to Morogoro/Mikumi National park. It is only 45 km from Morogoro town.

ACCOMONDATION AND OTHER SERVICES
Being at Eco Camp, a guest can unplug from busy life and connect to something larger through immersion in the local ecology and spearheading positive sustainable habits in developing countries. Volunteers/Travelers stay in bungalows which include mosquito nets, filtered water and a private bathroom. We also provide organic food three meals including breakfast, lunch and dinner. We accommodate students, families, singles, couples and groups up to 30 people.

Around late April 2018 we will have a new private family camp, with a capacity of 3 to 6 people.

ACTIVITIES/EXPERIENCES
Our guests have the chance to explore the natural environment with baboons, galagos, beautiful birds, chameleons and other animals at the Camp.

They will have the chance to get to know or participate in our social projects like supporting our Primary School, gardening, tree planting, construction and repair, distributing water purification tablets, cooking Tanzanian food with our cook at the Camp.

We offer a unique cultural tourism experience! Our guests can learn and experience the culture of the people. They will meet local villagers and also Maasai families.

We are the only Eco Camp along the highway from Dar es Salaam to Mikumi National park. We can organize daytrips to the very near Mikumi, Udzungwa or Selous National Park at a reasonable price. There you can see for example zebras, giraffes, lions, elephants, buffalo. antelopes and monkeys in their natural environment. For a very small fee, our guests can engage in spot fishing on Wami River while at the same time observing abundance of hippos in their natural habitat.
We organise airport pick up and other transfers to different destinations.
We are very long experienced tour guides who make our guests to explore the beauty and bulk natural resources of Tanzania.
